Care Philosophy

Being a certified nurse midwife holds a unique place in the field of caring. It combines two professions: nursing and midwifery. Nursing is an art and a science that provides care in a holistic manner. It incorporates thoughts, feelings and beliefs. A nurse is an educator, culturally intelligent provider, caring mind and a loving heart. A nurse is someone that provides support, empathy, and fulfills the duty to care for the needs of others.

Midwifery shares many of the same ideals. A midwife is with families in a way that honors the normal processes of the human body and uses evidenced-based practice. They recognize the importance of communication and a compassionate partnership, all while promoting holistic health. A midwife is an advocate and leader in the care of families.

My hope is to make a difference through simple and caring efforts in the lives of others. Being a certified nurse midwife is not just a profession, it is a lifelong commitment to help improve and care for the lives of others.
